Antarr’s 3rd Anniversary

03 dec 2024

Antarr celebrated its 3rd anniversary with an initiative that reinforces its commitment to sustainability and environmental revaluation: the creation of a small arboretum. In this symbolic space, the Antarr team and Administration, along with the Sonae Arauco’s team and members of the Carvalhais and Candal Parish Council, each person sponsored two trees, giving the occasion a special significance. This initiative reflects the core of Antarr’s mission: the revaluation and preservation of Natural Capital.

Since its founding three years ago, Antarr has been a concrete response to the challenges threatening Natural Capital. Aware of the importance of the provisioning, regulating and cultural functions of the ecosystem services, Antarr is committed to reversing the impacts of wildfires, rural landscape degradation and human desertification.

Currently managing over 5,500 hectares, Antarr has planted more than 800,000 trees, actively contributing to the revaluation of vast natural areas, improving soil quality and creating habitats for various species. This effort is part of a comprehensive and innovative territorial management vision that prioritizes water resource preservation, soil recovery and the creation of spaces for leisure, community interaction and the preservation of local traditions, increasing the quality of life for surrounding communities.

Around 40% of the area under Antarr’s management integrates sustainable production, such as timber and other forest resources, with practices that promote environmental conservation, ensuring biodiversity and ecosystem balance. Currently, 16% of the area is exclusively designated for conservation, focusing on protecting natural habitats, endangered species and ecosystem revaluation.

This commitment reflects a long-term vision: creating a lasting positive impact, ensuring a sustainable and balanced future and leaving a legacy for generations to come. On this 3rd anniversary, Antarr reaffirms its purpose to increase Natural Capital, leaving an indelible mark on the landscapes and communities where we operate.
